Solar sizing guide
Size LiFePO4 storage from energy demand, solar harvest and autonomy.
An off-grid battery bank needs enough stored energy for the defined load profile and enough compatible charging capacity to recover. Good sizing considers seasonal conditions, voltage architecture and power limits together.
Minimum solar battery-sizing inputs
- Daily and peak consumption in Wh/W.
- Expected PV generation and usable solar window.
- Desired autonomy and critical-load policy.
- Controller/charger settings and maximum charge current.
- Inverter current/surge profile, system voltage and ambient conditions.
Choose the voltage architecture early
Small systems may remain 12V. As current and wiring considerations grow, a system intentionally designed at 24V may be more appropriate. The verified 25.6V 100Ah platform provides 2.56kWh nominal energy, but final suitability comes from the complete design.
